Person-Centred Counselling and Therapy in Twickenham & Ealing, West london.
WelcomeI am Briony Barton-Chapple. I am a Counsellor practising from rooms in the Twickenham and Ealing areas, and am easily accessible from Richmond,Teddington and Chiswick in West London. My training is in Person-Centred Counselling.
Person-Centred therapists aim to create a comfortable and non-judgemental environment by being genuine and empathic towards their clients. We use a non-directive approach. This helps towards clients exploring and finding solutions to their own problems.
I have experience of counselling at the Metanoia Counselling Psychotherapy Service, Bereft and I am currently working at the Feltham Open Door project. I have finished my 3rd and final year of a diploma of Person-centred counselling at the
Metanoia Institute and am currently completing my final dissertation.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy
(BACP), and I am bound by their codes of ethics and practice. All of my work is professionally supervised.
Beginning TherapyPrimarily, the first session is used to explore the possibility of our working together. It is a chance for you to ask me any questions about how I work, and what counselling entails. We can discuss what your expectations of counselling or therapy might be, and any anxieties you may have about beginning. We will also go over practicalities such as fees and session timings.
If, after this initial session, you feel that you would like to begin working with me, then our work together can carry on for as long as you require. You may find that a few sessions are all that you need, or you may wish to continue much beyond this - it's up to you. You are always free to talk openly about how you are finding counselling – indeed, this can form a very useful part of our work together.
